Action Adventure film

The camera angle in the first scene enhances the intensity and tension increased- the men in the woods are afraid of the creature in the sea. A shot that directly demonstrates this is as there is a high angle shot looking down on the main males character who has stepped up t to face the beast, however he has been over shadowed and consumed but it showing his vulnerability and danger. He has a flame in his hand showing his determination and resilience.  Another shot to show the danger the men are a facing is a side profile shot of the men’s faces as they have very still body language and panicked expressions.

The Editing is very fast paced and sudden creating a surprising effect for the audience. The main male character is given prevalence in the shot as the audience want us to understand the hero and the villains. There is an extremely effective shot which is low angle shot from underneath the sea looking up at the man on the raft.

It starts of as a still shot then suddenly it starts getting closer moving faster towards the raft until it’s about to his the raft then the screen turns back. The audience are support to understand that the camera is in the perspective of the creature under the sea and that it’s coming for the man, this creates an element of suspense and danger. Additionally it makes the audience feel empathy for him as he is vulnerable and unaware of what’s going to happen to him. This is called dramatic irony as the audience know more than the characters do giving the audience a sense of power over the film.

The main characters of the film are a family on an adventure. The locational setting is a key part to the importance of the film as it keeps the audience interested and intrigued. This shot to the left allows the audience to see the family experiences the journey that they are taking. Also the audience for this film is most likely to be families and therefore there might be an element of envy towards the setting. There is a cliff that the family are walking towards which connotes that although they are about to face a life threatening circumstance, they are together as a family and nothing can hurt them.
The music in the film is very eventful and has a lot of depth to it. The duration of the trailer there is the non-dietetic sound of a narrator (the main male character) giving a brief synopsis of the film? This gives the audience something to listen too while the action packed shots are provided for then to look at.
